Content Marketing Examiner Contributor Guidelines

The Content Marketing Examiner (CMX) is about “selectively crowd sourcing” the various aspects of the content marketing lifecycle through interviews and conversations with practicing industry experts. The following guidelines summarize the qualifications for interview candidates or guest bloggers for CMX.

Personal Qualifications

  1. Actively engaged in executing content marketing initiatives either with clients or within your own organization
  2. For consultants, have a minimum of at least five client engagements in the past two years
  3. Provide one case study/success story
  4. Participates in the content marketing community at large through writing, speaking or collaboration efforts
  5. Willing to socialize your CMX interview and resulting media throughout your network
  6. Provide bio, picture and contact information

Content Qualifications

  1. High-quality content that is relevant, well-written, and grammatically correct
  2. Original content
  3. Well-researched
  4. Fresh perspective
  5. No sales pitches or advertorials
  6. Length 500-1500 words
  7. Tied to one of the seven lifecycle steps of content marketing: Goals, Plan, Calendar, Produce, Publish, Engage and Measure (you can read about each step under Content Marketing Defined from the CMX home page)

We understand that in the content marketing world there are differing opinions on best practices and we are open to any information that is relevant, specifically on topic, useful and educational to assist others with their content marketing strategies. No submissions are paid, and all submissions are subject to review and edit prior to publication. If your article is accepted by CMX, you will have final review and approval prior to publishing and you will receive full authorship credit. We reserve the right to repurpose your content and/or interview into various media formats including, but not limited to, transcripts, summaries, blogs, video, podcasts, quotes in white papers and/or industry reports.
