Content Marketing Goals for B2B & B2C

Interview 7 Highlights

May 31, 2013 –A bottom line goal for most businesses is lowering the cost of conversions, although B2B and B2C may have different types of conversion goals. For instance, for a B2B it may be some sort of a lead, a form to be filled out or a phone number to call. A B2C may hone in more on the sale of a product or service. Martin van der Roest of the Examiner talks with Arnie Kuenn of Vertical Measures about content marketing goals for B2B and B2C and how high quality content helps to meet those goals.

For an increased traffic goal, content marketing can provide the framework for either type of business to successfully reach their target audiences and prospective customers. Establish specific goals and set up benchmarks and measurement KPIs (key performance indicators) to measure those goals. To understand correlation between action and outcome, tools (such as Google Analytics, Constant Contact or SalesForce) must be used to track how clients were acquired. Start creating content that is focused on the questions potential and current customers are asking. Add video, images and infographics to make your content compelling and engaging to your audiences and attractive to search engines. Arnie shares, “Patience is key in the process of setting goals, creating value-added content, and then gaining an audience to receive a true ROI.”

Key Take Aways

  • Lowering cost of conversions is a universal goal for business
